I’m Simone — the baker behind Bavarian Baker.

My story began in Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany, where I was born and raised and where my love for good wholesome food, baking, and gathering around the table first began. Some of my fondest memories are tied to the flavors and traditions I grew up with — homemade cakes and pastries, warm kitchens, family recipes, and the simple joy of sharing something delicious with the people you love.

On August 23, 1999, I packed up my life in Germany and immigrated to Texas, beginning an entirely new chapter thousands of miles away from the place I had always called home.

I first settled in the Fort Worth area, which became my home for 18 years. Over time, Texas became a part of who I am, but Nürnberg and my Bavarian roots have never left me. Eventually, life brought me to Austin, which I have proudly called home for the past nine years.

Through all those years, moves, and changes, baking has always had a way of bringing me home.

There is something incredibly comforting about making a recipe that reminds you of where you came from — the smell of a cake baking in the oven, a beautiful apple strudel, or a familiar dessert that can instantly transport you back to a family kitchen thousands of miles away.

Over time, I began sharing more and more of my baking with family, friends, and the people around me. Seeing the happiness a something homemade pastry could bring to others made me realize that this was more than simply a hobby. It was something I truly loved.

And that is how Bavarian Baker came to life.

My baking is a reflection of my own journey — Bavarian at heart and Texan by choice. I love honoring the traditional European flavors and baking traditions I grew up with in Nürnberg while also embracing the American cakes and desserts I’ve come to love during my years in Texas.

Everything I bake is made with care, quality ingredients, and the belief that the best desserts don't just taste wonderful — they create memories, bring people together, and sometimes even remind us of home.

For me, Bavarian Baker represents much more than starting a bakery. It represents where I came from, the life I built in Texas, and a new chapter that allows me to share a little piece of my Bavarian heritage with the community I now call home.
